Hedy uses small containers filled with glaze, drizzle a few drops of dish soap in it, and blow with a straw. When that mixture bubbles up over the edge of the container and pops against the piece, you are left with a crisp outline of those glaze bubbles, which mimic the veining in marble
All of her pieces are thrown and textured with precision, while the glazing part of my process brings a lot of uncertainty in the color and shapes. It can take over a year to finally get the hang of “bubbleglazing”, and feel consistently pleased with the results.

Straws - with goles poked close to the mouth
Push pins
Small pieces of thick paper
Painting with bubbles and soap!

Blow into straw to make the bubbles rise above the rim of container
GENTLY PRESS paper against pigmented bubbles
Do not use more than three colors
Do not over work the paint as you want to maintain the clarity of the colors.

Undoubrtedly one of the most colorful festivals in the world, Holi is celebreated by Hindus acros Northern India. It invloves throwing colored powder at on another, which pays tribute to the many hues of the spring season as well as events from Hindu mythology. Usually lasting a full day and night, the festival is a gloriously colorful and happy celebration ofg the end of winter and the sprign growing season.
