RATIONALE: The purpose of this essay is toeducate you about the industry of ceramics  beyond what is learned in the classroom — to introduce you to the safety concerns involving ceramics and how to maintain a healthy environment.

OBJECTIVE: You are to writ a one to two page paper in which you define what silicosis is, how one gets silicosis, and what is the cure for silicosis if someone were to get silicosis. Please include other industry careers that share the same health concerns. After you have thoroughly written

what have learned, you are to discuss the preventative measures that must be made to ensure that one doesn’t get silicosis in the classroom. Then maybe you (the class) will understand why I get upset when the air in the room gets a little ‘dusty’. This essay is not meant to get you too concerned about this class, rather it is intended to foster a clean environment for everyone to enjoy and ensure a place where everyone can make great things.
