PORTFOLIO - 50%


Minimum of 15 finished artworks / 5 selective works

SKETCHBOOK - 30%


Will be checked and graded throughout the year, as important as the completed work

PARTICIPATION - 20%

1. BE PRESENT

Engage mentally and physically in the studio.

-Phones in hotel

-Participate in demos, critiques, and discussions

-Stay focused on the creative process     

2. COME TO READY TO CREATE

Artists build habits through preparation

-Arrive on time

-Bring required materials

-Be ready to work when class beginns

3. RESPECT THE STUDIO

Treat the space, materials, & artwork with care.

-Clean your workspace

-Use materials respnsibly

-Food stays outside the studio

-Drinks must have lids

4. SUPPORT CREATIVE GROWTH

Take risks and help others do the same.

-Give constructive feedback

-Respect different ideas and styles

-Encourage effort, experimentations & improvement

The Three N's

In advanced art courses, assessment shifts toward conceptual depth, originality, and artistic voice. Students are evaluated on their ability to develop meaningful ideas, create innovative work, and communicate visually with intention and sophistication.

The artwork demonstrates depth, subtlety, and thoughtful decision-making. Nuance is shown through sophisticated use of compostition, symbolism, technique, concept development, and visual relationships

The artwork presents fresh, inventive, or highly personal ideas and approaches. Novelty reflects originality, experimentation, and the student's ability to move beyond cliches or familiar solutions.
